is an international architecture studio, established in 2008 by architects Inês Martins de Brito (Portugal, 1977) and Gilberto Rodriguez (USA, 1973).
Coming from different cultural backgrounds, they share a common interest in architecture and their career paths intersected in Spain while collaborating at RCR Arquitectes (2002-2004) - Pritzker Prize winners (2017). In 2004, they relocated to San Francisco, USA where they collaborated with Sagan Piechota Architecture and Jim Jennings Architecture respectively (2004-2008).
Based in Lisbon, the studio’s work has received international recognition with award-winning designs, publications and exhibitions in England, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Scotland, Spain and the USA.
The studio presented the lecture ‘Subtle Gestures in the Landscape’ at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment, RGU in Aberdeen, Scotland (2016), at the RCR Bunka Fundació in Olot, Spain (2015) and at the Facoltà di Architettura Sapienza Università di Roma in Italy (2012).
In 2014, they participated in the American Institute of Architects ‘Center for Emerging Professionals Annual Exhibition’ in Washington DC, USA. In 2013, were invited to participate in the ‘Portuguese Architecture: Quiet is the new Loud’ exhibition, promoted by Estratégia Urbana and Instituto Camões. In 2012, were selected by Wallpaper* Architects Directory for upcoming young emerging architects.
Brito.Rodriguez organize, teach and lecture at the annual international Art.Architecture Workshop, bringing together participants from Austria, China, France, Italy, Japan, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey and USA.
Brito.Rodriguez are both registered architects in Portugal and members of the Portuguese Architectural Association.
